Our Story - Casa Regina

 
Dominic, born and raised in Vilankulo, is a trained tour guide with a deep passion for his homeland. Since childhood, he dreamed of creating a small, local guesthouse – a place where guests would feel truly at home.
With great dedication, he laid the foundation for this project.
In late 2024, Dominic met Judith and Alex, two travelers from Germany. Inspired by his personality and vision, they decided to support him as partners – helping to build and develop his dream.

Casa Regina was born. 

Dominic and his mother Regina, the namesake of the guesthouse, live right next door. Dominic is always available to assist guests – whether with questions, excursion tips, or simply a warm conversation.
Donna Regina is happy to prepare her local specialty, Matapa, for guests.
Casa Regina is centrally located – just a few meters from the beach and about 700 meters from the market.
Here, you’ll live among locals and experience the real Vilankulo.
All major sights and activities are within walking distance.
Casa Regina is a place of genuine Mozambican hospitality.
When we first traveled to Mozambique, we instantly fell in love with the country and its people.
Locals may seem reserved at first, but they are open, kind, and incredibly helpful – offering an experience far from the usual tourist paths.
Vilankulo (formerly Vilanculos), with around 45,000 residents, is a vibrant coastal town and a hotspot for beach excursions to the stunning islands of the Bazaruto Archipelago.
The region captivates with its red dunes, crystal-clear waters, and spectacular sunrises and sunsets that promise unforgettable moments.
From Vilankulo, you can also embark on a safari to the nearby Zinave National Park – a largely untouched natural paradise where, with a bit of luck, you might spot the Big Five in their natural habitat.
